Ram awards scholarships to members of Future Farmers of America

Agriculture is vital to America’s success, and at least one automaker is doing its part to ensure that those who have a passion for the trade have the opportunity to pursue it.  Ram has announced the winners of this year’s scholarships for members of the National Future Farmers of America Organization (FFA).

This year’s recipients will represent a 29-year sponsorship of the FAA by Ram, which has resulted in more than $600,000 in scholarships.  This year, Ram announced that it will award 77 scholarships to students across the country who wish to pursue a post-secondary education.

“Ram has supported the FFA for more than 60 years, as we understand the importance of providing opportunities for current and future leaders in agriculture,” stated Robert Hegbloom, Director – Ram Truck Brand, in a press release. “Ram Trucks fit the lifestyle and culture of FFA members, and we continue to work with our local dealerships to support and build our relationships with the organization.”

Ram received over 6,000 applicants for its FAA scholarship in 2013, which the automaker believes is an indication that appreciation and support for farming is growing.  The automaker plans to continue strengthening that backing, and the FFA scholarship is one of many outlets to do so.
