The Ram Truck brand will, along with Case IH and New Holland Agriculture, donate equipment nearing a combined total value of $400,000 to Metro Detroit’s Forgotten Harvest food rescue organization.  The donations will enable expansion of large-scale farming on Forgotten Harvest Farms, which harvests fruits and vegetables and donates them to local hunger-fighting groups.

“In three years of harvesting fresh food from farms ourselves, we’ve gone from 100,000 pounds of food to 440,000 pounds to an estimated 850,000 pounds this year,” Forgotten Harvest President & CEO Susan Goodell was quoted in Chrysler’s press release as saying.  “One of our greatest barriers to further growth was the lack of equipment to support our staff and volunteers – and today, Ram Truck, Case IH and New Holland have delivered what we need to keep growing our farming operations to feed hungry families in need.”

The Ram Truck brand will donate a 2013 Ram 3500 ST Crew Cab Heavy Duty 4×4 for transportation use in Forgotten Harvest operations.  Forgotten Harvest is currently in charge of cultivating 75 acres of farm land, whose crops are vital in feeding Detroit’s hungry.  Additionally, Case IH is donating Farmall 125A tractors and New Holland Agriculture is donating a field sprayer and Rustler R125 4×4 utility vehicle.

The 2013 Ram 3500 ST Crew Cab Heavy Duty 4×4 boasts best-in-class torque, oil change interval, and a max towing capacity of 30,000 pounds.
