Rare 1937 Buick Century Convertible Hits Auction Block Next Month

Those attending the February 27-28 Rogers’ Classic Car Museum Auction, being put on by Mecum Auctions, will behold a cherry example of one of the most beautiful pre-war cars ever built: the 1937 Buick Century Convertible.

The model going on the block at the end of next month is one of a mere 843 produced, and it appears to be in near immaculate condition. Its exterior is gorgeous Luminous Metallic Blue, and its interior is a handsome tan hue. Powered by a straight-eight mated to a three-speed manual with floor-mounted shifter, the Century was a powerhouse in its time with 165 horsepower.
The ’37 Century Converible is stunning with the hallmark horizontal grille, chrome bumpers and bumper guards, split windshield, and dual side-mounted spares.
There is no set reserve price, so this beauty could be had at a bargain price if the chips fall just the right way. More likely, however, it’ll probably sell for a good chunk of change because 1) it’s a 1937 Buick Century Convertible 2) it’s beautiful.
