Oddly enough, it was Buick's passenger cars that found sales success last month, while the brand's SUVs suffered sales losses

Buick proves that two Regals are better than one

Buick recently made the prediction that dividing its Regal sedan into two separate hatchback and station wagon models would help boost sales for the vehicle. The Buick sales report for February seems to back up that claim.

In fact, Buick Regal sales were up by a massive 126.6%.

Buick sold a total of 2,318 Buick Regal vehicles last month. While it’s not clear how many of those Regals were wagons or hatchbacks, this is a good deal more than the 1,023 Regals Buick sold back in February of 2017.

Another of Buick’s passenger cars, the Buick LaCrosse, also experienced major sales growth during February. LaCrosse sales were up by 47.6% at a total of 1,989 units.

LaCrosse sales are doing even better for 2018 as a whole. So far this year, sales for the sedan are up by 88.1%.

In an unusual turn of events, Buick’s SUVs were the ones to suffer sales losses last month. Envision sales were down by a total of 9.5%.

Even the Buick Encore, the brand’s best-selling vehicle, couldn’t escape sales losses. Buick sold 5,705 Encores last month, a sales loss of 12.6%.

However, the Buick Enclave did manage to improve its sales year-over-year. Enclave sales were up by 5.7%, with a total of 3,143 Enclaves sold.

At the end of the month, Buick had sold 16,322 vehicles. The impressive sales turnout for its passenger cars helped Buick increase its overall sales by a slight 1.2% year-over-year.
