According to Cars Guide, Holden recently held a secretive meeting at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne with its national dealer network. At this meeting, dealers were informed that the all-new 2017 GMC Acadia would be imported as a Holden sometime between now and the closure of operations at all vehicle and engine manufacturing facilities by late 2017.
Per the report, the Acadia will be retaining its given name, but it will be rebadged. It is said that it will be available with four-cylinder and V6 petrol engine options, in addition to a diesel engine option that will not be available in the US.
At the meeting, dealers were told that the Holden Acadia would be slotted above the Captiva, which leads to speculation that it would carry a base price of approximately $45,000. It was announced this week that the Acadia will carry a $29,995 base price in the United States.
When pressed, Holden refused to comment on speculation about future models. Expect more details as the year rolls on.
