New Toyota Plano Headquarters

According to new plans filed with the City of Plano, Toyota’s newest office campus will be nearly twice the size as what was originally proposed, growing to cover more than 2.1 million square feet.

Uncovered by Dallas News, a new site plan filed with the Plano planning and zoning commission reveals that Toyota’s West Texas headquarters will now be the largest new office project in North Texas and one of the largest projects in  the state.

According to the plans, the 99.8-acre development will include six office and commercial buildings and parking for more than 7,000 cars. This suggests that Toyota’s previous estimates of 4,000 employees may be significantly lower than the final tally.

“While we are still in the planning stage and no final decisions have been made, our new campus will likely be larger than originally reported to accommodate not only our team members but also some portion of our corporate partners, consultants and contingency staff,” Toyota said in a statement.

Construction on Toyota’s Plano campus began earlier this year. Toyota first announced the move to Texas in April of last year.
