Mark Reuss did a whoooole lot of talking during the New York Auto Show. In speaking with Autoblog, the President of GM North America not only alluded to the possibility of a Cadillac CT6-V, but he had just about the same amount of nebulous candor with regards to the eventual fate of the Buick Avenir.

When asked by Autoblog whether there might be a production version of its surprising flagship sedan somewhere down the road, Reuss replied: “We always do business cases on things that are very nice and attractive like that. So yeah, we’re absolutely… you know looking at… you know, it was such a hit, what would it look like in production, what would it cost to do it. So that’s where we’re at.”

That is, indeed, where they are at. It stands to reason that GM might not want to pull the trigger quite yet on a Buick flagship sedan as it would almost certainly undercut the efforts to push the CT6. However, if the CT6 is able to establish itself as a hot-seller after a few years on the market, it’s not unreasonable to imagine GM exploring an entry-level luxury equivalent in the form of a production-run Avenir.

Still, the question as to whether it should be built has only one answer: yes, because of course you should.
