Ford F-450 Hauls Old Glory

‘Merica!

Step aside, Chevrolet. Ford just made a statement and broke the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Banner Pulled by a Moving Vehicle with its 2017 Ford F-450 Super Duty.

So Many Options: Which Ford truck is right for you?

In quite possibly the most dramatic display of freedom ever, a white F-450 shot off on the track of Homestead-Miami Speedway with Old Glory slowly unfurling from the arms of about a dozen devoted Americans, all while a theatrical orchestral piece set the tone for the monumental event.

Ford Breaks Guinness World Record

These colors don’t run, but the truck does. Really well, actually.

Official adjudicator Casey Desantis stated that the banner must travel at least 100 meters without touching the ground. The remarkable F-450 handled that with ease. The previous record holder, Chevrolet, managed to fly 3,203 square feet of stars and stripes back in September. Ford surpassed that feat last weekend, with a whopping 4,123.5 square feet of American beauty majestically floating through the air.

“Normally, we’re talking about towing and payload and things like that. Today, we’re talking about towing the largest banner ever. This fits with our DNA and what we’re all about,” said Doug Scott, Ford Truck Group Marketing Manager.

It’s no surprise that the 2017 F-450 could handle the weight of the massive flag, considering it currently has a 21,000-pound towing capacity and an impressive 925 lb-ft of torque. With constant advancements on trucks with substantial payloads, this record may not last for long.

An American Classic: This truck is outshining its competitors
