The new LaCrosse, which bears the striking new face that was premiered at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show late last year, will be offered with two unique powertrains in China: the LaCrosse 2.0T SIDI and the 1.5T SIDI. The former will be paired with a new six-speed DSS transmission to power the LaCrosse 28T, generating approximately 261 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The 1.5T SIDI will be offered with the LaCrosse 20T, mating it with a seven-speed intelligent dual clutch to generate 169 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The LaCrosse 20T will also be eligible for a 50% purchase tax cut due to the 1.5T SIDI meeting small-displacement eligibility.
In addition, the new LaCrosse will feature the second generation of GM’s Continuous Damping Control, which monitors road conditions 100 times per second for superior handling. It will also feature a new MacPherson front suspension that features a decoupled three-link upper suspension structure, an eight-point full-length sub-frame, and a multi-link independent rear suspension.
