Subaru Dine Out for Life to end AIDS event

Subaru is partnering with Dine Out for Life® for an important fundraising event

In a partnership with Dine Out for Life®, Subaru is hosting a nationwide event to raise money and awareness for the constant fight against AIDS. The restaurant-based events will be held at more than 3,000 participating locations in North America, with Los Angeles joining the fundraising event for the first time this year. Each restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds from that night to fund HIV/AIDS care, prevention, education, testing, counseling, and additional helpful services in that city.

“As part of Subaru’s Love Promise, we remain committed to supporting the causes our drivers care about, including joining the fight to overcome an HIV/AIDS epidemic that affects many in our local communities and millions around the world,” said Alan Bethke, senior vice president of marketing, Subaru of America Inc. “We are proud to once again work with Dining Out for Life to spread awareness for such a worthy cause.”

Celebrities join the cause

Certain events in larger metropolitan areas will include special volunteer guest speakers and celebrities, including Chef Daisy Martinez from the Food Network and actress Pam Grier (Foxy Brown and The L Word). Designer and winner of Lifetime’s Project Runway All-Stars, Mondo Guerra, will also be in attendance and created special designs for the event.

Ted Allen, host of the Food Network’s Chopped, will make an appearance and is excited to help such an important cause, “I love working with (Dining Out For Life) because it’s just such a cool, very low-overhead operation that raises more than $4 million for American HIV and AIDS service organizations in a single day…It also helps restaurants and chefs get new people coming in to try what they’re doing. It just seems like such a win-win-win for everybody.”
