The Scion FR-S was packaged as the savior for rear-wheel-drive sports car enthusiasts, and it has not disappointed.  Bold styling, a 200 horsepower 2.0-liter boxer engine and affordability have made the FR-S a hit not only with consumers, but with industry experts and the accolades continue to roll in.  A sterling debut at the 2012 SEMA Show ended with officials and enthusiasts naming the Scion FR-S “Hottest Sport Compact” of the year.  After the dust settled at this year’s show, talk of a sophomore slump can be set aside.

Judges at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas named the Scion FR-S the Hottest Sport Compact for the second consecutive year; this honor is even more impressive when you consider that the FR-S has only been in existence long enough to appear at two SEMA shows and has won the award both times.

“We’re honored to take home the Hottest Sport Compact award two years in a row, reflecting fans’ continued excitement around the FR-S,” said Dave Harbuck, Scion Corporate Manager, in a press release. “Whether here at SEMA or out on the road, the FR-S is a true enthusiast’s car. The power and possibilities for personalization inspire our owners to take this car to new levels.”
