What do you get when you bring thousands of generous Scion owners, lots of toys and a haunted amusement park together? Scion Night at Knott’s Scary Farm. For 10 years, Scion has partnered with Knott’s Berry Farm to collect donations for Toys for Tots, and this year’s turnout was huge.

Anxious participants stormed the gates bearing gifts and riding in Scions. Free entrance to the amusement park was awarded to the first 10,000 people who rode in a Scion and brought a donation for Marine Toys for Tots, a non-profit organization that provides Christmas gifts to children who might not receive one otherwise.

Free tickets were gone before 5pm, but the guests kept coming. The event brought about 12,500 Scion owners and passengers in approximately 3,500 Scions to the amusement park turned Halloween haunt. They donated over 27,000 toys valued around $10 to the cause.

Generally, military vehicles are provided to contain the abundance of toys, but with the recent federal government shutdown, the vehicles were unable to be secured for the event. Toyota stepped in donating 14 Toyota Tundra’s for the evening.

“When you attend Scion Night, you see that the cars are often extensions of the owners and their passions are second to none,” Scion’s corporate manager, Dave Harbuck, said. “There were many first-time visitors this year, and we will continue to evolve Scion Night alongside our fans to invite more into the Scion family and say ‘thank you’ to them.”

We’re guessing around 27,000 children will be thanking the participants in Scion Night at Knott’s Scary Farm this Christmas.
