(Part of) the new Scion concept car

At last year’s LA Auto Show, Scion debuted the iM hatchback. Fast-forward a year, and the iM is on sale at Scion dealerships along with its sister sedan, the iA. Now, Scion is announcing a new concept car that will debut at this year’s LA Auto Show, and we are hoping for something as spectacular as last year.

The new vehicle will be unveiled as a concept car, but Scion has already admitted that it’ll be released as a production model sometime in 2017. There’s no word on the type of vehicle we can expect, but we’re hoping for something to replace the boxy xB, which had its final year in 2015. The xB was a hit when it was first released, but an unfortunate redesign soured drivers’ opinions of the multi-purpose vehicle, resulting in disappointing sales in recent years.

A crossover would be a welcome addition to Scion’s lineup, which is aimed squarely at the Millennial generation.

All we know for now, from this nifty teaser image, is that the new Scion concept car will have a Scion badge and will be red, perhaps with a silver roof. The rest will be revealed at the LA Auto Show, on November 18th-19th.
