The highly-anticipated 2017 BMW 5 Series is set to arrive at dealerships early next month. As such, BMW has begun to create additional excitement for the vehicle in the days leading up to its release. With the 5 Series being seen as a young and exciting new vehicle, BMW wanted a spokesperson who was equally as young and exciting. Fortunately for the brand, it found the perfect candidate.

BMW recently named actor Scott Eastwood as the face of the 2017 BMW 5 Series.

Scott Eastwood, the son of legendary actor Clint Eastwood, has already begun following in the footsteps of his father, acquiring roles in some of Hollywood’s biggest motion pictures, including the upcoming The Fate of the Furious. With a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuing a legacy, Eastwood was viewed as a kindred spirit by BMW.

“The key messages of our commercial are clear: success has to be earned. Never rest on your laurels,” explains Hildegard Wortmann, Head of the BMW Brand. “That’s as true of the new BMW 5 Series as it is of Scott Eastwood. And it’s just one of the reasons the two go together so well.”

Eastwood will appear in a series of advertisements for the 2017 BMW 5 Series. The commercials will center on the “Business Athlete” aesthetic that BMW has developed for the 5 Series, showcasing how the vehicle brings a spirited performance to the business class of vehicles.

In addition to more traditional marketing methods, Eastwood will also star in a series of digital short films, each showcasing a different feature or aspect of the BMW 5 Series. The “Business Athlete” campaign is currently set to have a global reach spanning across 40 different countries.

The pairing between the 2017 BMW 5 Series and Scott Eastwood seems to be a mutually beneficial one. BMW receives an up-and-coming star to help them promote their latest vehicle, while Eastwood receives steady work after appearing in Suicide Squad.
