See the Toyota Make Your Mark Art Installation at SXSW
There’s no arguing that South by Southwest is one of the most popular music festivals in the country. But there’s more to SXSW than just music—the festival also has a film section and an interactive section to appeal to a wide variety of festivalgoers. As part of the interactive portion, Toyota has teamed up with REVOLT to create the Make Your Mark interactive art installation, which allows fans to help customize the backdrop of a 2015 Toyota Corolla via social media.
The Corolla will help create four unique pieces of art at the Toyota Make Your Mark art installation
The Make Your Mark art installation will be on display during the REVOLT House Party presented by Toyota on Friday, March 20th, and Saturday, March 21st. The 2015 Corolla will be enclosed within a glass case and feature a canvas backdrop. During the two-day party, Twitter users can tweet messages using the hashtag #MakeYourMark, and one of six paintball markers within the glass case will shoot the canvas, creating a unique backdrop for the Corolla. In total, four distinctive pieces of art will be produced using around 4,500 algorithmically-programmed paintballs.
An additional attraction during the REVOLT House Party will be the Toyota light writing photo booth that uses finger lights to create art. For each image created using the photo booth, a tweet will be sent out automatically using the #MakeYourMark hashtag, triggering a paintball in the adjacent art installation.
You don’t have to be physically present at SXSW to contribute; Twitter users from across the globe are invited to contribute to this unique art.
