SL 63 AMG World Championship 2014 Collector’s Edition

2014 was an exceptional year for Mercedes in the world of motorsport. Retaining Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg for the 2014 Formula One season turned out to be about the smartest move possible, resulting in an absolute throttling of all competitors on the way to the Constructors’ World Championship and a one-two finish in the World Drivers’ Championship.

To celebrate, Mercedes is releasing two limited edition SL 63 AMG World Championship 2014 Collector’s Edition models, one created by Drivers’ Champion Hamilton and the other by runner-up Rosberg. And, yes, SL 63 AMG World Championship 2014 Collector’s Edition is the complete name.

Both feature distinct touches chosen by the drivers. Hamilton’s SL 63 AMG is finished in designo night black Mango paint with gold trim, and Rosberg’s SL is offered in designo cashmere white mango with designo himalayas Grey accents. Hamilton’s entiror continues the black and gold theme with Black designo Exclusive nappa leather, and Rosberg’s interior features designo Exclusive Style leather in titanium grey.

Both models are powered by a 5.5-liter AMG V8 biturbo engine that cranks out 585 horsepower, unleashed even more with an increased top speed limit. Also included is the AMG Driver’s Package, AMG sports suspension, Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG sound system, and many other top-tier features.

The bad news? Mercedes is only making 19 examples of each and they are exclusively available to members of the Mercedes-Benz Circle of Excellence. Also, they’re €320,110 (about $387,400 USD) a piece.

The good news? If you buy the pair, it will only cost €629,510 (about $761,770), so you’ll save about $13,000 if you bundle. Score!
