Spy Shots for testing mule in camouflage - teaser car parts

The Chevrolet Equinox was last refreshed in 2010, and is due for a new generation. According to GM, we can expect the latest Equinox for the 2017 model year. The new vehicle is being run through its paces, and while hot-weather testing it was caught by a spy photographer.

Although the Equinox is covered heavily in padding and camouflage, it’s clear to see that the redesigned SUV will ride much lower to the ground than the current model. The grille could possibly be modified to match more of other refreshed Chevy SUVs, with more black metal and less chrome.

In the spy photos, the Equinox is pulling a U-Haul trailer, so it seems that they are also making sure that the vehicle has an adequate towing capacity for today’s families. The Equinox will supposedly be built on GM’s global compact frame, which would make it slightly smaller than the 2015 model but more in direct competition with the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape.

As we get more details at The News Wheel, we’ll fill you in. Any official announcements are probably pretty far away, as the vehicle is not estimated to roll onto dealership lots until early 2017.
