Strategic Vision’s Total Quality Index Ranks FCA US on Top

The Ram Truck brand earned the title of industry’s best non-luxury brand

When you’re purchasing a new car, quality matters. After all, who wants their car to break down within the first year of purchasing? Because they know how important quality is to the masses, every year, Strategic Vision releases its Total Quality Index—and this year was no exception.

For its 20th annual Total Quality Index survey, Strategic Vision has named Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as the highest overall car brand, showing that the Italian-American carmaker truly knows how to produce quality cars.

Six FCA US vehicles won their respective segments for total quality. The Dodge Charger and Durango came out on top in their respective classes, while the Challenger made a name for itself tying for first in the Specialty Coupe segment. This is the second year in a row that the Charger has been recognized and the third year of recognition for the Durango. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited was also the best-in-class Entry SUV for the second consecutive year, while Ram was named the industry’s best non-luxury brand. Finally, the Fiat 500 and 500e made a name for themselves in the small car segments.

The Total Quality Index is determined by survey responses from more than 46,000 owners of new 2015 model year vehicles. New car owners are asked to analyze 155 specific aspects of the customer experience, allowing Strategic Vision to measure the total ownership experience of each vehicle.
