strobe warning LED light kit for all 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks

Ford has announced that it is now offering an optional strobe warning LED light kit for all 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks. The lights should come in handy for utility, road construction, or municipal crews, who require advanced vehicle visibility to warn motorists and others that workers may be present.

The no-drill light kit is warranted, and because it’s factory-installed, is not susceptible to corowion issues that can sometimes result from poor aftermarket installation. The front- and rear-mounted amber-lens lights can be seen from as far away as 1,000 feet during the day, and as far as a mile away at night. The light kit has also been evaluated for all applicable regulations and industry standards.

In the promotional video below, Ford uses the strobe lights to flash out a secret message in Morse code.

Could you decipher the secret morse code message? That’s right, it was “Be sure to drink your Ovaltine”—a crummy commercial!

No, we kid. The message is, of course, the automaker’s slogan, “Built Ford Tough,” a not-so-crummy commercial.

According to Ford, the strobe warning LED light kit features:

  • Forward-facing signals high-mounted with metal brackets at the rear edge of the hood for maximum visibility
  • Rear-facing signals are mounted on either side of the center highmounted stop lamp and provide up to 180 degrees of illumination
  • Replacement trim panel with pre-mounted on-off switch that fits into existing auxiliary switch port
  • Customer programmable flash-pattern capability to meet specific fleet requirements • Weather-resistant, durable, low-power LEDs
