Over the past few years, Chevy has released a number of special-edition Camaros, such as the 50th Anniversary Edition and Krypton Concept, but neither of those vehicles offers the same low-slung stance as the new 2017 Camaro SS Slammer Concept.

Making its debut at the 2016 SEMA Show, the new Camaro SS Slammer Concept is a customized version of the sixth-generation model that was inspired by current trends in the hot-rodding industry.

The exterior of the vehicle is covered in a Dazzling Black paint job that contains gloss white flakes, which were used on the muscle car so it would sparkle and shine more when it’s viewed from different angles. In addition, the Camaro SS Slammer Concept sits on 22-inch wheels up front and 24-inch wheels in the rear. To allow for this unique design, mechanics installed an air-adjustable suspension which permitted this distinctive slammed stance.

Underneath the hood, the Slammer Concept uses the same 455-horsepower V8 engine that comes inside the factory version of the 2017 Camaro SS. That motor is paired with a six-speed manual transmission with Activ Rev Match, which sends power to the rear wheels. Furthermore, to increase the vehicle’s fun factor, the Slammer Concept was equipped with a stainless steel exhaust system that reduced backpressure by approximately 25%. This new exhaust also makes the growls that come from the Camaro sound even louder.

Inside the cabin, an Active Noise Cancellation calibration update has been included so the driver and passenger(s) can enjoy the premium Bose sound system. Also, in contrast to the car’s Dazzling Black exterior, the inside of the Camaro features an Adrenaline Red hue to go along with the Camaro’s edgy appeal.

Some of the other notable equipment that can be found on the 2017 Camaro SS Slammer Concept includes Brembo brakes, a ground effects kit, custom-painted Chevrolet Performance engine cover, black bowtie badges, and Camaro fender badges.

“The Camaro SS Slammer concept is a design exercise intended to take the Gen 6 Camaro’s proportions to the extreme, pushing boundaries to evoke reactions and inspiring personalization on behalf of other Camaro owners,” said Executive Director of Global Chevrolet Design John Cafaro. “From styling accessories to performance parts, the choices from Chevrolet for new Camaro owners are almost endless.”
