Subaru continues to be one of the top car brands on the market, for various reasons

Each year, since 2002, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has reported on businesses in regards to their policies and practices that relate to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees. This report, the Corporate Equality Index, measures how tolerant and supportive businesses are towards these employees and what they are doing to ensure that they are protected and content while working.

Subaru is a place where all are welcome, according to president Thomas J. Doll

Throughout the years, more and more companies across the nation have received amazing scores and this year, Subaru was one of 517 major companies that earned a perfect score of 100 on the CEI. Over 1,043 businesses were rated by the HRC to determine how beneficial it would be for queer people to work there.

Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc, stated, “Subaru is honored by this designation and humbled to receive a perfect score from the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). We pride ourselves in the diverse network of employees across our corporate offices and retailers and strive to celebrate the many differences that come together to make Subaru a thriving place of business, where all are welcome.”

Working at Subaru means that you don’t have to worry about discrimination

Some of the more in-depth criteria that determined the rankings included domestic partner benefits, non-discrimination workplace protections, competency programs, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, and public engagement with the LGBT community.

This isn’t the only time Subaru has earned top marks from the study, as it received a perfect score for the first time back in 2007 with an additional top score in 2008 as well. Since then, the automaker has worked increasingly hard to ensure that its employees are happy, and will continue to do so moving forward.
