The 2016 Forester led Subaru to its best sales year ever

December has just begun, but already Subaru has outpaced its performance from last year. That means Subaru has already hit an all-time sales record for its best year ever in the United States, an entire month early—which is impressive given the fact that the brand usually sells a fair amount in December, thanks to its Share the Love event.

In 2014, Subaru managed to sell 513,693 vehicles in the US. It was announced on November 30th that Subaru has officially passed that mark for 2015, with sales totaling 526,401 in the first 11 months of this year. This is in large part due to sales of the Forester, Outback, and Crosstrek, which now account for more than 350,000 sales each year. The Legacy, Impreza, and WRX/STI have also seen tremendous success; it is the lone BRZ that is not experiencing phenomenal achievement.

Thomas J. Doll, the president and chief operating officer of Subaru of America, who was just named Motor Trend’s Person of the Year, stated, “We are delighted to be celebrating yet another record. Our continued growth is built on strong products and outstanding retailers providing a great customer experience. We thank all of our retailers for their continued commitment in making these record-breaking sales possible. Given consumer demand for our products, we expect a strong close of 2015.”

2015 marks the eight year of sales growth for Subaru.

In last month specifically, Subaru sold 46,070 units, which is a 2% increase over November 2014 sales. The Crosstrek posted a 17% sales increase for its best November ever. The Impreza was also up a whopping 90.2%.
