Alongside its announcement that Subaru had officially produced its 15 millionth all-wheel drive vehicle, the Japanese automaker also released its February 2016 sales results earlier this week. In the United States, Subaru saw record February sales overall, with a 1.6% increase over February sales in 2015. In total, Subaru moved 42,011 units. So far this year, Subaru has sold 83,211 vehicles in the United States.

Another big achievement—February marked the 24th consecutive month (and thus the second consecutive year) that Subaru managed to sell 40,000+ vehicles. Notably, the Subaru Forester, Outback, and WRX/STI lines did exceptionally well, each recording their best-ever Februaries. Subaru moved 12,239 Foresters in February for a 6.8% gain over February 2015. A whopping 11,952 Outbacks were sold, which is 320 more units than were sold in February of last year. And the WRX/STI came in at 2,380 units sold, for a nearly 1% increase over the same month last year.

The Subaru Legacy also saw an improvement of 2.6% year-over-year, while sales of the BRZ jumped 27.3%. The only models to see a decline in February were the Crosstrek and the Impreza.

“Subaru vehicles continue to be recognized by the press and public alike for their reliability, value and safety ratings,” remarked Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer for Subaru of America. “Our record sales are the result of focusing on our core strengths, producing safe, reliable and versatile vehicles that are delivered through an outstanding retail network.”

Year-to-date, sales are up 1.2% over 2015, which was a record-breaking year for the automaker. We’ll take that as a sign of good things to come for Subaru.
