Subaru will once again be hosting the Dining Out For Life event this year. This marks the 10th consecutive year that the Japanese automaker has taken a sponsorship role in Dining Out For Life, a nationwide event aimed at raising money to fund HIV/AIDS care, prevention, testing, education, counseling, and more.

This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 28th, at more than 3,000 participating restaurants.* On this day, simply dine at a participating restaurant, and what Subaru calls a “generous portion” of the day’s proceeds will go toward the HIV/AIDS cause.

In total, 60 cities across North America (mostly the US, but a few in Canada) will be participating. You can find your nearest participating location here.

Alan Bethke, vice president of marketing for Subaru of America, commented, “We have been the host sponsor of Dining Out For Life for a decade; however, the struggle to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic continues on. Subaru is proud to be part of an event that spreads awareness for such a worthy cause and also encourages people to support those who need it most in their local communities.”

According to AIDS.gov, more than 1.2 million people in the United States are currently living with an HIV infection. Of those 1.2 million, nearly 1 in 8 (12.8%) are completely unaware that they are infected. As of 2012, an estimated 658,507 people in the United States had died an AIDS-related death.
