Subaru Loves to Care Effort Brings Warmth to Leukemia & Lymphoma Patients
For Subaru, Christmas isn’t the only time for giving–it’s an everyday habit for the charitable automaker.
Driven by the Subaru Love Promise–an ongoing effort to improve the conditions of animals, nature, education, and health–the brand is making a difference to cancer patients across the nation. This June, Subaru of America teamed with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for an extra effort to make a difference in hospitals across America.
Over the month of June, 54 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society chapters worked with 393 Subaru dealerships to deliver over 30,000 blankets to cancer patients undergoing treatments nationwide. Thousands of patients received blankets in nearly 250 hospitals and treatment centers as part of the Subaru Loves to Care initiative.
This incredible achievement was accomplished through the generosity of Subaru customers who shared hand-written messages with the blankets. “We truly hope that both the blankets and messages of inspiration help provide comfort and warmth as patients continue their fight against cancer,” expressed Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America.
LLS president and CEO, Louis J. DeGennaro, expressed his gratitude. “We are proud and grateful to Subaru for this unique collaboration with its hundreds of retailers, who have shown such energy, compassion and enthusiasm for LLS’s goal to find cures for blood cancers and ensure access to treatments for patients who need them.”
