Subaru to Unveil 2016 Crosstrek Special Edition at Chicago Auto Show
This morning, Subaru announced that it would be pulling back the curtains on a new special edition Crosstrek model for 2016. The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek Special Edition will debut at the Chicago Auto Show later this week in its Pure Red color. Only 1,500 examples of the special edition Crosstrek will be produced.
The Subaru Crosstrek Special Edition will carry all the goodies found on the regular Crosstrek models. Some of these features include Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, 17-inch alloy wheels, and an EPA-estimated 34 mpg on the highway. It also maintains the “bold five-door design” of the 2016 Crosstrek and offers the same 8.7 inches of ground clearance.
The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek Special Edition will be built off the 2.0i Premium Crosstrek variant. It’ll get the Pure Red exterior treatment, as well as foldable mirrors with integrated turn signals. Inside, the Crosstrek Special Edition gets red stitching on the leather-wrapped shift lever handle, as well as the door panels and steering wheel. Drivers will also appreciate the interior dash trim’s red inlay and the soft red glow of the interior lighting.
Other notable elements for the 2016 Crosstrek Special Edition are the power moonroof, keyless access with push-button start, the All-Weather Package (including heated exterior mirrors and front seats, and windshield wiper de-icers), instrument panel with color LCD, and Blind Spot Detection/Rear Cross Traffic Alert, among several others.
Look for the limited run of the Crosstrek Special Edition to start arriving in spring 2016.
