Subaru’s New ‘Proud to Earn Your Trust’ Commercial Will Hit You in All the Feels
Marks “Most Trusted Brand” and “Best Overall Brand” awards from Kelley Blue Books
Earlier this year, Subaru made a pretty awesome sweep of the Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards, taking home Best Overall Brand for the first time and Most Trusted Brand for the second year in a row. (Not to mention, Subaru was also named Best Performance Brand to boot.)
To mark the occasion, Subaru has come out with another commercial that could potentially bring you tears, if you’re in a particularly nostalgic mood—or if just the music from Cymbalta commercials can make you cry every damn time. This commercial, titled “Proud to Earn Your Trust,” is a montage of sorts, pulling emotionally charged clips from past “Love” commercials. You know, the ones that end with “Love: it’s what makes a Subaru a Subaru.”
Among the included clips are scenes from commercials such as “Welcoming Party,” “Subaru Heaven,” “Baby Driver,” “Honeymoon,” and “Back Seat.” I will say, I was a little disappointed that “Dream Weekend” (that one with the dying dog and his bucket list road trip) was not on there, because that is the best damn commercial I have ever seen.
Even so, the national television spot, which was created by Carmichael Lynch, manages to hit you in all the feels, if you’re open to it. Look out for the new Subaru commercial on cable TV and late night networking programming this month through September. Or, because it’s 2016 and nobody watches live TV and everyone has the internet, you should probably just watch it below, in either the 30- or 60-second spot version. I recommend the 60-second spot, featured first.

“Over the past eight years, we’ve seen our Love campaign resonate incredibly well with consumers, who often feel a personal, emotional connection to the brand and the stories we’ve told,” remarked Alan Bethke, senior vice president of marketing at Subaru of America. “With this new spot, Subaru gives a nod to the past while continuing to move forward in earning and maintaining the trust of our owners.”
Congrats to Subaru on its landmark victories.
