Subaru helped raise money for Meals on Wheels America

Back in November of 2016, we reported that Subaru would have no cap on its annual Share the Love® Event, as opposed to previous years that had a $5 million cap for each charitable organization. The automaker followed through with this promise, raising over $24 million for organizations like the ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals on Wheels America, and the National Park Foundation. Last year, the automaker raised $19.1 million with the cap, making this year’s event 26% more successful.

“For the ninth consecutive year, we are proud to honor our continued commitment to supporting the causes our customers care most about through the Subaru Share the Love event,” said Alan Bethke, senior vice president of marketing, Subaru of America, Inc.

Not only did Subaru raise more money than last year, it managed to blow past the $90 million goal for the entire program’s run, reaching a grand total of $94 million in its nine year span. “Since its inception, Subaru has donated more than $94 million to our national and hometown charity partners through the program and we look forward to witnessing how the latest contribution will positively impact communities all across the country,” said Alan Bethke.

Some local food pantries were selected by Subaru dealerships to receive donations

In addition to Subaru donating to these national organizations, each Subaru dealership had the opportunity to choose a hometown charity to help as well. This added over 660 local charities to the Share the Love campaign, ranging from food pantries to animal rescue shelters. As you can see, Subaru continues to be a leader in companies that are giving back and it seems that it has no intention on stopping any time soon.
