Subaru’s STARLINK now allows for integration with Stitcher

Japanese automaker Subaru announced today that its STARLINK in-vehicle technology now has the added benefit of Stitcher. Drivers of Subaru vehicles who currently enjoy STARLINK can reap the benefits of the Stitcher integration immediately.

Stitcher provides audio programming in the news, sports, and entertainment media, offering up more than 40,000 radio shows, live stations, and podcasts, provided through sources like Fox, NPR, CBS, CNN, AP, The Wall Street Journal, and others.

If you are a Subaru driver who currently has the STARLINK system, you can get started with Stitcher via your dashboard display. As always, you must connect it to your iOS- or Android-powered device so that you can access the SUBARU STARLINK app. Once you’ve got it set up, you can generate a playlist of your favorite programs, get personalized recommendations based on what you like (and don’t like), and more.

“We aim to provide the best and most relevant content for our customers and we are excited to add a great partner like Stitcher to SUBARU STARLINK,” remarked Alan Bethke, vice president of marketing at Subaru of America. “By downloading the free SUBARU STARLINK app, our customers can seamlessly integrate the capability of a smartphone into the vehicle so that hand-held phones may be safely stowed while driving.”

According to Subaru, a number of STARLINK updates will be featured on select vehicles for the 2016 model year. Among those updates are SiriusXM Connected Vehicle Services and AT&T 4G LTE.
