Cadillac’s September 2014 sales were the luxury automaker’s best since 2007, largely due to the success of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade SUV and the 2014 Cadillac SRX crossover.

The Escalade’s retail sales shot up 115% over September of last year. So far for this year, sales of the Escalade are 33% higher than they were at this point in 2013. The Escalade has always been a segment favorite, but it hasn’t claimed this much of the segment since June 2005. Last month, it beat out the competitors from Infiniti, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz—combined!

The SRX also held its own in September. So far this year, the Cadillac brand has moved 41,708 examples of the SRX, more than Caddy has ever done before in this time period. Sales are up for this year 3% over 2013.

“Sales growth is important, and at the same time we are improving the quality of our business overall,” explained Jim Bunnell, U.S. vice president of Cadillac sales. “The desirability of our new products is elevating our brand and attracting new buyers.”

Another milestone for the American luxury automaker: average transaction prices surpassed the $50,000 mark, an important milestone to hit as Johan de Nysschen works to position Cadillac as a competitor with the likes of BMW and Audi.
