Take a Closer Look at the All-New 2019 Hyundai Veloster and Veloster Turbo
At this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Hyundai gave audiences a sneak peek of the all-new Veloster and Veloster Turbo.
Completely redesigned, the Veloster sports a stronger powertrain and a stylish new look for 2019. The new look comes from Hyundai designers in Seoul, South Korea, and Irvine, California. “Our new 2019 Veloster represents an even more compelling offering for young and young-at-heart automotive enthusiasts with more expressive design, involving dynamics and cutting-edge infotainment features,” said Mike O’Brien, Hyundai’s vice president of product, corporate and digital planning.

Under the hood of the Veloster is a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine rated at 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The Veloster Turbo upgrades its output with a 1.6-liter turbocharged direct-injected four-cylinder engine that gives off 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.
The two-door Veloster arrives with an entirely new shape, channeling an asymmetrical style. This year’s Veloster truly reflects the traditional perception of a coupe, with sporty styling and an athletic stance. You can opt for available 18-inch alloy wheels for even more eye-catching appeal.

The interior uses color-blocking techniques to enhance the asymmetrical styling, dividing the front cockpit and the rear seats. As you move up the trim ladder, you’ll see changes to the interior’s color scheme and materials, as well. Despite its two-door design, the Veloster offers ample interior space — 19.9 cubic feet behind the second row — giving you the ability to bring along the cargo you’ll need for your next adventure.
Infotainment decorates the cabin as well, with standard features like Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay™, and a 7-inch color LCD display infotainment system. You can always upgrade your tech options, as well, with the addition of features like SiriusXM® Satellite Radio and HD Radio.
“When combined with Hyundai’s outstanding value and efficiency, the new Veloster is sure to attract a progressive new group of enthusiastic buyers,” said O’Brien.
