2014 GMC Yukon XL badgeIt’s hard to believe that it is only the end of April and we are already looking forward to 2018 model year vehicles. With many of the upcoming 2018 models already revealed at recent American auto shows, scrutiny is now moving on to the 2019 vehicles. If you are thinking about buying a truck in the future, you need to see the first spy shots of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500.

This big truck has always been known for its rugged style and durability. It looks as if the rugged style is still intact just by looking at this truck’s general shape. However, with so much camouflage and padding loaded up on the vehicle, we can’t say definitively if the silhouette we’re seeing is actually real. What we do know for sure is that GM is learning from the mistakes of Ford’s implementation of aluminum in its trucks to start incorporating the lighter metal into its own workhorse vehicles.

This updated truck was spotted testing in the Colorado Rockies, far away from the bustling hub of Detroit. General Motors was probably hoping that would mean fewer spy shots would be taken of the truck, but they didn’t manage to escape fellow drivers on the road.

While seeing this Sierra on the road is exciting, we are really intrigued as to what this spy truck means for its sibling model, the Chevrolet Silverado. We’re hoping that the rumors of a hybrid truck and a diesel engine option are true. We have a long way to go before we’ll know for sure, but when we see anything official we will let you know.
