The 2014 Corvette Stingray’s New Seats

A lot has been said about the all-new 2014 Corvette’s power and styling.  After all, the C7 pumps out 460 horsepower and flaunts an exterior design that rivals those of exotic sports cars, but Chevy’s real “room for improvement” aspect of the Corvette was in the interior.

Chevrolet made silencing critics of the previous generation of Corvette’s much maligned interior a top priority, and it shows.  From a customizable cluster display, all the way to the seats, the newest installment of the legendary sports car addresses every possible issue.

Normally seats wouldn’t be something of note in a new car, but Chevy made sure they were for the all-new Stingray.  In an age when automakers are attempting to shed pounds, Chevy went the other way, crafting seats for the Corvette that weigh 11 lbs.

It easy for the weight to pile up when you are using only premium materials like real aluminum, magnesium and available Napa leather.

“We felt like we had to do it, because we were so heavily critiqued for the previous seats,” said Tadge Juechter, chief engineer for the 2014 Corvette.

We don’t expect to hear many criticisms of the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray’s interior as it arrives at dealerships this year.
