The 2018 Chevrolet Aveo Has 35 (Yes, You Read That Right, 35) Improvements
If you, like so many others, lament that the Aveo name—perfectly cromulent as it is—was cast aside for the Sonic nameplate, then you’ll be psyched (totally psyched) to learn that the Aveo is still very much alive and kicking in Mexico. In fact, the new Chevy Aveo was revealed earlier this month ahead of its January 2nd launch, and, boy, is it ever a Chevy Aveo.
“Chevrolet Aveo has been one of the favorite cars of Mexican customers since its arrival in the market in 2007, and we are convinced that it will continue to be thanks to its 35 improvements,” said Chevrolet Passengers Marketing Manager Erika De Witt.
What are these 35 improvements, you ask?
On the first day of Aveomas, Chevy gave to me
A new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 107 horsepower
On the second day of Aveomas, Chevy gave to me
An available four-speed automatic and a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 107 horsepower
On the third day of Aveomas, Chevy gave to me
Electronically-assisted power steering, an available four-speed automatic, and a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 107 horsepower
Actually, no, we’re just going to stop there. Sorry to be Scrooges, but noooope.
Key improvements, apart from those already mentioned in song form, include Electronic Brake Distribution, electric front and rear windows, body-color door handles, body-color and power-folding mirrors, and improved trunk capacity. In short, without doing a massive song about it, the new Aveo is an all-around better car. If you need a full song about the Aveo in your life, just pretend that we committed to it and you got through the whole thing and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The new Chevy Aveo will be available beginning in January starting at $199,900 MXN (approximately $10,500 USD) for the Aveo LS with manual transmission and topping out at $252,900 MXN (approximately $13,280 USD) for the Aveo LTZ with automatic transmission.
