The Chevrolet Corvette is just one of those cars that everyone appreciates. Even if a fan of the bow tie drives a truck or subcompact instead, they still join the throngs of people crowding around screens to catch a glimpse of an update to this legendary vehicle. One of the latest Corvettes to hit showroom floors (if it doesn’t sell out before that) will be the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. It is still in the prototype phase, so almost everything we know about it is rumor. One thing that we know for sure, however, is that it’s far enough along in development to take to a test track in Germany.

The ZR1 isn’t testing at just any track, either. It was spotted at the legendary Nurburgring, where many of the world’s supercars cut their teeth before being put on sale. Chevrolet’s choice of track might have led to the prototype being caught on camera by spy photographers, but they were prepared because the entire car was clad in camouflage decals. While it’s difficult to discern much with absolute certainty what is under all those stickers, the team at MotorTrend is confident that this new ‘Vette will a front splitter will be more dramatic than on other models, and it clearly has a massive rear wing to add to its racecar look.

It is great that we now get an idea of what the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 looks like, but hopefully we will soon learn what will be under the hood. Considering that the Corvette Z06 has a 650 horsepower engine, we can only imagine how high that could be upgraded for this latest model. Once we know more about it and when you can get your eyeballs on it without camoflauge, we will let you know.
