The Enclave was the most-searched for vehicle on Google in seven separate states

The 2017 Buick Enclave has a starting MSRP of less than $40,000

It’s beauty and it’s grace. It’s the most-Googled vehicle in the United States.

In today’s technological age, the most popular way to learn more about a vehicle that you are interested in is to simply look it up using Google.  Therefore, Google search results are a rather accurate indicator of which vehicles are generating interest in the industry.

Motor maintenance company Gold Eagle recently examined data concerning which vehicles were searched for the most by each state. Its study found that the Buick Enclave was the most Googled vehicle in the entire country.

The Buick Enclave was the most searched vehicle in seven different states. These states included Ohio, Minnesota, Kentucky, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Buick also had top-searched vehicles in three other states. The Buick Cascada was the vehicle Googled most in Indiana and Missouri, while the Encore came out on top in Wisconsin.

In larger states, larger vehicles like trucks tend to be more sought-after. While Alaska researched the Ford F-350, Texas opted for the the classic Chevrolet Silverado. While it should come as no surprise that SUVs, crossovers, and trucks dominated search inquiries, small and mid-sized cars managed to take the top spot in 12 states. In addition to the Cascada from Buick, the Subaru Legacy also managed to be pretty popular, with the most-searched status in both West Virginia and Idaho.

Meanwhile, electric/hybrid models managed to take the top spot in two states: California and Washington. Washington internet users were interested in the Nissan Leaf, while California web-surfers were looking up the upcoming Tesla Model 3.

While industry-wide sales might be on a slight decline, web searches for new vehicles seem to be on the rise. Gold Eagle noted a 7% increase in Google searches regarding motor vehicles. Internet users also seem to be relying more on smartphones and tablets, as 62% of those web searches came from mobile devices.

It should be noted that just because these are the vehicles that users are searching for the most on Google, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are the vehicles that the users will end up buying. Still, with 97% of new car buyers doing some sort of online research before arriving at the dealership, it is a strong indication on what vehicles are generating buzz in each state.
