Ford’s attempt to repeat history and reclaim the glory of victory at Le Mans is now one step—and 12 drivers—closer to becoming reality.

Ford Chip Ganassi Racing announced this week the lineup of drivers who will pilot the No. 66, No. 67, No. 68, and No. 69 Ford GT race cars at the 2016 25 Hours of Le Mans this summer. Ford brings its four-vehicle team to the world’s most famous endurance race just in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its 1-2-3 podium sweep at the 1966 race.

Each car will be driven by a team of three drivers, all with numerous accolades in competitive driving. Powering the No. 66 car will be Stefan Mücke of Germany, Olivier Pla of France, and IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge driver Billy Johnson of the United States.

The No. 67 car will be driven by Marino Franchitti of Scotland, Andy Priaulx of Guernsey, and 2014 LMP2 class Le Mans winner Harry Ticknell.

The No. 68 car will be driven by Joey Hand of America, Dirk Müller of Germany, and Sébastien Bourdais of France.

The No. 69 car will be driven by Scott Dixon of New Zealand, Richard Westbrook of England, and Ryan Briscoe of Australia.

“We are pleased to have a very strong driver line-up for our return to the Le Mans 24 Hours,” commented Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president and chief technical officer, Global Product Development. “We’ve assembled a talented and experienced team on all fronts and we are all focused on creating a new chapter in Ford’s history at Le Mans.”

This year’s Le Mans 24 Hours race takes place between June 18-19.
