The Dodge Viper ACR Claims the Track Record for Carolina Motorsports Park
Although 2017 may mark the final chapter for the Dodge Viper, the performance vehicle seems to be going out on a high note. So far, the final generation of the Viper ACR has set 13 track records across the United States. However, with the latest announcement surrounding the Dodge Viper, that number will have to be revised to 14 track records.
The Dodge Viper ACR has just claimed the track record for Carolina Motorsports Park.

During its race around the track at Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP), the Dodge Viper ACR finished with a time of 1:37:040, the fastest time ever recorded at CMP for a production car.
The Viper and its driver, Brad Wood, were both sent by the Gerry Wood Dodge dealership of Salisbury, North Carolina, to beat the previous lap record. In fact, Wood drove the car from the dealership showroom to the track. After setting the new record, Wood then proceeded to drive the Dodge Viper ACR straight back to the dealership.
“It was a great privilege to be able to do this today, to extend the record of the racetrack supremacy of this amazing hand built American supercar,” said Wood. “To drive it to and from the track for this accomplishment was just icing on the cake.”
Gerry Wood Dodge is currently the dealership in the Southeast United States with the most Dodge Vipers in their inventory, with a total of 141 models ordered for the 2017 season. The dealership also wanted to help the Dodge Viper accomplish something special before it was discontinued later this year, and I would say that setting a new track record would certainly qualify.
