The Holidays Roll In on These Must-Have ‘Charlie Brown Christmas’ Hot Wheels Cars
The holiday season is upon us, and with it come the many traditions each family has partaken in for as long as they can remember. For many households across the country, that includes watching the timeless Charles Schulz animated feature, A Charlie Brown Christmas. The simple half-hour short film is viewed on millions of television screens every December, as the Peanuts characters reiterate the true meaning of Christmas–which, frankly, we still always need to be reminded of.
Knowing what a treasured part of the holidays that A Charlie Brown Christmas is, Hot Wheels has released a set of five new die-cast model cars that pay homage to the Peanuts classic–just in time for early Christmas shopping!
Hot Wheels Releases 5 New Cars Featuring Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Woodstock, Linus, and Lucy
Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand has released many pop culture designs in recent years, paying homage to everything from Star Wars to The Simpsons to Super Mario. The recent set of five 1:64-scale die-cast cars released for holiday season 2016 put Snoopy and the gang on winter wheels.
The officially-licensed “Snoopy’s Christmas” assortment features five cars with previously-released bodies sporting new wraps printed on them. These include:
- Red-and-gold Deco Delivery with image of Snoopy embracing Woodstock (Linus on the card)
- White 1985 Chevy Astro Van with image of Lucy shaking a present under a Christmas tree (Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and Linus on the card)
- Silver 1966 Dodge A100 with image of Snoopy on his doghouse (Snoopy and Woodstock on the card)
- Red Custom Chevy Greenbrier Sport Wagon with image of Snoopy sledding (Snoopy and Lucy on the card)
- Blue Rolling Thunder with image of Sally and Linus sledding (Lucy and Linus on the card)
While all five Hot Wheels cars (available here) are charming, my personal favorite is the Peanuts car released last year in conjunction with Blue Sky Studios’ The Peanuts Movie. That unique model was sculpted to make Snoopy’s red doghouse look like a hot rod, and even features the imaginative dog piloting it. Hot Wheels also released a series of six cars paying homage to Charlie Brown’s other holiday specials and iconic moments as part of its 2015 Pop Culture Series.
Be honest, you know you want to find these in your stocking on Christmas morning.
