The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Extreme Concept Will Blow You Away
The Sprinter Extreme concept looks like it could tow an entire shopping mall
Mercedes-Benz brought a new concept vehicle to the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, and it’s not what many people would expect from the German automotive brand.
The Sprinter Extreme concept is actually a Sprinter 3500 Cab Chassis that has been fully modified by long-time Mercedes-Benz customizer RENNtech. A custom roof rack has been added to the Chassis Cab to help support six forward-facing lights, and even more lights are located on the sides of the roof rack. The concept vehicle also features a winch and unique brush guard that’s equipped with fog lights. A distinctive vinyl wrap, chrome exhaust stacks, custom rear fenders, and a suspension lift package have also been added to the vehicle.
Underneath the hood, you’ll find a four-cylinder BlueTEC diesel engine and seven-speed transmission, which combine to create a towing capacity of up to 7,500 pounds. In addition, the van features a 6,400 pound payload capacity.
A Scattolini ScattoMaax “Tipper Bed” is equipped on the backside of the Sprinter Extreme concept. This unique bed provides three-way tipping capability and allows the Sprinter Extreme to dump more than 5,200 pounds of dirt from either the side or rear.

Unlike most concepts, the foundation for the Sprinter Extreme can be ordered at a Mercedes or Freightliner dealership today with the help of our MasterUpfitter program.”
