Back in December, fans of Top Gear had the chance to bid on a five-door Power Red 1.6-liter Vauxhall Astra Tech Line that appeared on the show for its “Reasonably Priced Car” segment. If you missed out on the opportunity to scoop it up, then there’s good news, bad news, and good news. The original auction ended without a bid, so they put it back up for auction last month. But then that auction went down without a bid, which leads one to believe that it will probably go back up on the block here before too long.

As with the previous auction, the Astra driven by everyone from Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston to Steven Tyler and Will Smith was being auctioned off with all proceeds going to BEN. BEN is an organization that provides services to individuals and families in the auto industry.

“It is a shame the original sale fell through, but this of course does mean another chance for a Top Gear fan to get their hands on a piece of the show’s history, after all this was the last car to be used in the show’s previous format,” said David Main, Chief Executive at BEN. “Who knows, perhaps Chris Evans or Matt Le Blanc may fancy bidding on it themselves?!”

The vehicle’s specs were unchanged here: 2,908 miles on the odometer, 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, sat-nav system with seven-inch color monitor, leather three-spoke sports steering wheel, digital radio with six premium speakers, and front Corbeau Spring Racing seats with 5-point safety belt harness and full roll-cage. Again, the roll-cage resulted in the disabling of the airbag system, and in order for this reasonably-priced Astra to become street legal once again, this must be reversed. Same warning about incurring “significant cost” to get this thing back on the highway. Maybe that was what scared folks off.

Better luck next time!
