This may come as something of a shock, but let’s lay it out here: Ford Motor Company makes a bunch of money on trucks. Like a lot. Like it probably clears somewhere around $10 billion just on F-Series trucks priced $50,000 and up. This, naturally, meant that Ford was super into the idea of putting out there a truck that could command closer to six figures. This is exactly what has been done with the 2018 Ford F-450 Super Duty Limited 4×4.

“The Super Duty lineup is a win for all of our customers, from successful ranchers to contractors to RV owners,” said Todd Eckert, Ford Truck group marketing manager. “Super Duty Limited is the most luxurious and advanced heavy-duty pickup truck ever created by Ford for accomplished buyers, with appetites for the high life and hard-earned dollars to match.”

And how many of those hard-earned dollars will one be shelling out for a Super Duty Limited 4×4? For the F-250, the price starts at $80,835 MSRP; for the F-350, $82,010 MSRP; and for the F-450, a whopping $87,100 starting MSRP. Ford adds that a fully-equipped 2018 F-450 Super Duty Limited 4×4 with all available options glopped on costs $94,455. Chow time.

“There are heavy-duty truck customers who need Super Duty-level capability and want true luxury,” Eckert said. “We created this new truck to answer the call for even more premium choices in the Super Duty range as we see more and more truck customers trending to more premium models.”

Ford also created this truck, no doubt, to make a butt-ton of profits. The automaker says that more than half of all Super Duty sales this year have been for top-tier trims like Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. With Limited’s added premium features—including Camelback two-tone leather seating, Miko® suede headliner, and twin-bar satin grille with chrome accents—that’s only likely to remain the case when the Limited trim arrives this winter.
