This 2000 Mercedes CLK CTR AMG Might Command $2.2 Million in February Auction
This February you will have the opportunity to purchase a 2000 Mercedes CLK CTR AMG at the Bonhams’ Grand Palais Retromobile Auction.
There were only 25 Mercedes CLK CTR AMGs ever made and this was only done because Mercedes had to produce a street edition of its racecar to meet racing regulations, so it could compete in the FIA GT Championship back in 1997. Only 25 of these exclusive vehicles were made available for public consumption. The Mercedes that will be available at the upcoming auction is chassis no. 23.

The Mercedes CLK CTR AMG comes equipped with a 6.9-liter V12 engine good for 612 horsepower and more than 500 lb-ft of torque. This ultra-rare Mercedes can rocket from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 198 mph.
This automobile is also notable because the body was built with carbon-fiber composite and unlike the racecar; the street version actually comes with air conditioning and leather-appointed seats.
The Mercedes CLK CTR AMG sold for $1,547,620 when it was initially released in 1998, which at the time made it the most expensive production car in history.
This particular Mercedes CLK CTR AMG only has 2,000 miles on its odometer and Forbes expects it to command up to $2.2 million at February’s Bonhams’ Grand Palais Retromobile Auction.
