Honda Get Well Card‘Tis the season of giving, and companies around the world are spreading holiday cheer among those less fortunate. Honda is no exception, and has created what it calls the “Ultimate Get Well Card” for patients at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) in California using a mixture of technology and crowdsourcing.

The card was created using thousands of get-well messages gathered via crowdsourcing and presented to CHOC patients in a specially-decked-out hospital room via an iPad loaded with augmented reality technology. When viewed through the iPad, the get well card featured the children’s names, and the room transformed into a virtual winter wonderland to bring a little taste of normality and magic to the patients during the holiday season. “Sending warm wishes to others is one of the best traditions of the holiday season and through a little Honda innovation we’re using augmented reality to send messages that will brighten the lives of young patients at Children’s Hospital of Orange County,” said Susie Rossick, Assistant Vice President, Honda Marketing.

In addition to presenting the children with a unique and exciting holiday card, Honda will donate $1 for every “Like” or “Love” the video receives on Facebook, up to a total of $100,000, to the CHOC and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF). Click here to get in on the action.

Honda has supported both CHOC and PBTF for a number of years, and this campaign continues their goodwill through the holiday season while spreading awareness for PBTF, which is the biggest nonprofit in the world dedicated to brain tumors in children and teens.
