GMC walked out of the opening week of the 2014 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) with not one, not two, but three major awards. The awards were given to GMC by three of the industry’s leading names in automotive expertise—Kelley Blue Book, AutoTrader.com, and Edmunds.com. The three NYIAS awards for GMC honor their focus on brand refinement, the excitement building around their newest model, and the popularity of one of their classic offerings among car shoppers online.

Foremost, the GMC brand earned the title of Most Refined from the good people of KBB.com. The award is based upon Kelley Blue Book’s new-car buyer perception data, which measures how well a brand creates and maintains an attention-grabbing profile to which customers cling.

“Refinement is one of the elements that sets GMC apart from our competitors, so we appreciate receiving this award from KBB.com,” said Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president of Buick and GMC, who was on hand to accept all three awards.

AutoTrader.comwas next to honor GMC for the excitement building around the newly-announced 2015 Canyon midsize pickup. For its ability to do a lot of the things its fullsize Sierra cousin can, its host of new technologies, and its commitment to superior comfort, the Canyon was named to the Auto Trader Must Test Drive list.

Finally, the 2014 GMC Acadia took home the title of Edmunds.com’s  “2014 Most Popular on Edmunds.com Large Crossover SUV.” The award honors those vehicles that had the highest total monthly car-shopper considering throughout 2013. This entails unique visits during a calendar month to Edmunds’ model year detail pages, reviews, build and price tools, and new car inventory.

“Recognition from respected third-party organizations validates our momentum with customers, and we look forward to building on that success at GMC,” said Aldred, who no doubt had his arms full by the end of the day last Wednesday.
