2014 Buick Verano Turbo - Buick Wins Three Kelley Blue Book Awards

The 2014 Buick Verano was one of three Buick cars to win a 5-Year Cost to Own award from Kelley Blue Book.

Kelley Blue Book announced its 2014 5-Year Cost to Own awards last week, and among the top prizewinners was Buick. Three of Buick’s 2014 vehicles earned awards for their superlative affordability: the Verano, Encore, and Enclave each earned top honors for their segments.

2014 Buick Verano

The 2014 Buick Verano, which won the Best Entry-Level Luxury Car category, was praised for delivering a comfortable and quiet ride “with ease and without pretension.” The two-time-and-reigning KBB award-winner earns points for a low starting price that comes with more than enough standard features and equipment (e.g. 7” touchscreen, 18” aluminum alloy wheels, scheduled maintenance program) to help lure in the young luxury buyer demographic that Buick covets.

2014 Buick Encore

The 2014 Encore took home the Best Luxury Compact SUV/Crossover trophy for the second year in a row with a 5-year cost to own of $39,971. Much of what makes the Encore so cost-efficient is owed to the 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic; high fuel efficiency and superlative technology make the Encore easy to maintain and affordable to fill up. KBB also praised the 2014 Encore’s Quiet Tuning integration and copious utility space.

2014 Buick Enclave

The 2014 Enclave pulled double-duty for KBB this year, appearing on its 10 Best Luxury Cars under $40,000 list in addition to taking home Best Luxury Full-Size SUV/Crossover. Not only does the Enclave boast a starting MSRP that is considerably more affordable than its competitors, but it is more than generous with its style, comfort, and amenities. The Enclave offers a supremely quiet ride, a powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine, and the choice between front- or all-wheel drive.

“Buick puts the customer first, not only offering a great portfolio of vehicles, but maintaining quality and dependability long after the vehicle is purchased,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing, in the automaker’s press release.

Kelly Blue Book determines the winners of their 5-Year Cost to Own Awards based upon projected depreciation and fuel costs, finance and insurance fees, maintenance and repairs, and state registration fees.
