A crash in Saturday’s Fred’s 250 at Talladega Superspeedway could have ended the race under caution, but luckily for eventual winner Timothy Peters, the race ended with a green-white-checkered finish that crowned him the winner. Peters’ No. 17 Toyota Tacoma was just ahead of a 10-truck crash on Lap 91 of the 94-lap race, shooting him to first place and allowing him to cross the finish line to become the second consecutive winner of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.

Peters led the field for 23 laps before falling behind, but was able to regain his lead by passing Brandon Jones on the final restart of the day. Eighteen-year-old high school senior Jones took second place in his No. 33 Chevrolet during his superspeedway debut. He was followed by Mason Mingus in third, Erik Jones in fourth, and Tyler Reddick in fifth.

Peters’ win makes it the fifth year in a row that he has won at least one race in the NASCAR Truck Series. This win puts him fifth in the standings, up from sixth, with four races remaining.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns next weekend at Martinsville Speedway. The race takes place Saturday, October 31st at 1:30pm ET and will be broadcast on FS1.
