Toyota Brand September Sales

Toyota Brand September sales were led by the RAV4

September was one heck of a month for Japanese automaker Toyota. All three brands under the Toyota Group umbrella combined to sell a total of 629,181 units in the third quarter of 2014, which was the highest since 2007. Toyota Brand September sales led the pack 145,427 units sold, which was about even with September of 2013.

Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager, had this to say: “Auto sales remained strong in September and rounded out an excellent third quarter, the best for the industry since 2006. SUVs and crossovers continue to be the industry’s hot spots, and RAV4 and 4Runner both saw double-digits gains.”

In fact, the RAV4 had record sales with an increase of 42.7% for its best-ever September, and the 4Runner was up an incredible 76%. Other sales superstars included the Camry, with more than 28,500 units; the Corolla, with over 20,530 units sold; and pickups topping 20,000 units.

With the recent release of the made-over 2015 Camry, Toyota is expecting its sales results to continue to soar throughout the remainder of 2014. Only time will tell, but the automaker is definitely off to a good start. Watch this space for more.
