Toyota Camry and Corolla Continue to Dominate American Car Market

There’s no arguing that the Toyota Camry is one of America’s best-loved cars. Year after year, model after model, American drivers continue to choose the Camry for its affordable price tag, reliable reputation, and number of available features. That’s why it’s no surprise that the Camry was revealed to be America’s best-selling car in March, and in 2015 so far.

March saw Toyota move 40,800 Camry models total, and 2015 has seen a grand total of 100,505 units sold. The Camry, which sits in the mid-size segment between Toyota’s smaller Corolla and larger Avalon, has a base MSRP of $22,970, which is on par with competitors like the Honda Accord (MSRP $22,105) and the Nissan Altima (MSRP $22,300). It also comes with standard Entune Audio, which includes Bluetooth connectivity; a standard backup camera; standard power-adjustable driver’s seat; and wood-grain-style interior trim.

Toyota isn’t just winning with the Camry, though; the compact Corolla sedan was March’s second-best-selling car with 35,532 units moved. Of course, these numbers don’t take into account the pickup truck market, which is by far the biggest selling segment in the United States based on volume. Nevertheless, the Camry and Corolla have certainly captured–and kept–America’s attention in the passenger car market, and are expected to continue this trend for the remainder of 2015.
