Toyota Camry and Sienna Named to Top 10 Best Vehicles of 2016 List

Each year, the experts at Consumer Reports analyze the current vehicles on the market and choose the 10 best models out there in 10 different categories. This year, two Toyota models were named the best of the best in their respective segments—the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Sienna.
These vehicles, and the eight others on the list, were picked for earning top scores in road tests, their reliability based on problems reported by owners of 740,000 vehicles, their owner satisfaction rating, and their top performance in crash tests. These factors contribute to a scoring system whereby Consumer Reports awards vehicles a number out of 100.
Toyota Camry
The Toyota Camry was named the Best Midsized Car on the list. In fact, Consumer Reports touted it as a “near-perfect sedan,” which is saying something in a market positively heaving with sedans. Each year, the Camry is awarded excellent reliability scores, and last year it scored 84-87 out of 100 in Consumer Reports’ scoring system. The Camry was also lauded for its available Hybrid model, which is affordable yet extremely fuel-efficient.

The Toyota Sienna took the top spot as Best Minivan for 2016. Consumer Reports awarded the Sienna 78-80 points out of 100, thanks to its spacious and multifunctional interior, its “energetic powertrain,” and its available all-wheel drive. A plethora of amenities to keep families entertained and connected tipped the balance in favor of the Sienna when compared to other minivans on the market.
Other vehicles recognized include the Honda Fit (Best Subcompact Car), the Subaru Impreza (Best Compact Car), the Subaru Forester (Best Small SUV), the Lexus RX (Best Luxury SUV), the Mazda MX-5 Miata (Best Sports Car Under $40K), the Chevrolet Impala (Best Large Car), the Kia Sorento (Best Midsized SUV), and the Ford F-150 (Best Pickup Truck).
